Mens County Triples Quarter/Semi Finals
Sunday 9 July 2023
Due to the fact that Bowls England has organised a Junior International Squad Day on 9 July 2023, it is possible that this could have an impact on the Quarter/Semi Finals of the Mens Triples which are scheduled for that day.
Jason Parkinson has been appointed as an International Selector and he needs to be attendance at the BE Squad day. It is also a possibility that some of our players could be involved.
It has therefore been agreed by the Bowls Lancashire Executive that the following rules will apply:
Affected Players- Any players or selectors on International duty and also due to play County Triples on 9 July 2023 (“affected player/team”) will be allowed to play their Quarter Final matches in advance of 9 July and if affected their Semi Final matches after 9 July 2023
Quarter Final- Once teams have reached the Quarter Finals, the opponents of any team with an affected player will be deemed Challengers and shall offer 3 dates for Quarter Final with dates falling on or before 8 July 2023. Where both teams have affected players, the first named team shall be Challengers. Dates must be communicated before 1830 on (day after closing date of prior round) and no date can be offered with less than 48 hours notice.
No dates offered shall clash with other county or international events unless mutually agreed and no start time offered shall be before 1800 or later than 1830 on a weekday or before 1000 or later than 1830 on a weekend unless mutually agreed. Once dates have been offered, the the affected team shall accept a date within 24 hours.
There is also an option for the affected team to play on 9 July and to arrange a substitute in accordance with usual Bowls Lancashire rules. If this is the case then the affected team shall notify the Challenger within 24 hours of dates being offered.
Semi Final-The opponents of any team with an affected player will be deemed Challengers and shall offer 3 dates for Semi Final matches falling in the window 10-20 July. Where both teams have affected players, the first named team shall be Challengers. Dates must be communicated before 1830 on 10 July and no date can be offered with less than 48 hours notice.
No dates offered shall clash with other county or international events unless mutually agreed and no start time offered shall be before 1800 or later than 1830 on a weekday or before 1000 or later than 1830 on a weekend unless mutually agreed. Once dates have been offered, the affected team shall accept a date within 24 hours.
If an affected team agrees to play a Quarter Final match with a substitute then, should they win, they must also play the Semi Final with the same substitute.
